Jobs and the Economy
Peter Barca has a proven legislative record of
securing and creating jobs in Kenosha as well as helping to create and
expand training programs.
In fact, he was the lead author of WISJOBS- Job
Creation Act, which led to hundreds of new family supporting jobs.
Additionally, Peter was responsible for:
The Export Assistance Act to help Wisconsin
Companies to export their products abRoad;
The One Stop Job Center that led to Kenosha’s Job
Center which has already proved to help businesses and job seekers;
The Dislocated Worker Fund, which was the first
state enhanced program in the country to help provide extensive training
to workers.
Finally, Peter was one of the key authors of the
Utility Company Act that led to the creation of Lakeview Corporate Park
in Pleasant Prairie which has brought dozens of companies to the area
and created more jobs for the citizens of Kenosha.
The Barca Agenda is:

to qualify for SBA Loans

Foster partnership between
Wisconsin Universities and those businesses in strategic areas such as
medical and green technologies

Develop tax and research incentives for
businesses pursuing alternative energy sources

Develop new technology at the Department
of Commerce to make Wisconsin businesses informed on export
opportunities for their products

Ensure job training programs are available
for emerging technologies
·
Help Kenosha businesses to qualify
for state programs, tax incentives and opportunities that Wisconsin and
the federal government offers
