Energy and Transportation
Peter Barca supports lowering energy costs and reducing our dependence
on foreign oil.
As a legislator was successful in transportation
and energy related issues:

Barca and the Kenosha
legislative delegation obtained the funds to make
Highway 50 a four lane road between Kenosha and Lake Geneva.

Barca helped secure funding
to expand Highway 31 into a four lane road
and more important sent repeated letters to constituents and held
meetings to ensure the work was done with the advice and involvement
of property owners and eased their difficulties during the
construction period.

Barca Chaired the Special
Rail Services Committee that developed the
plan to extend rail services from Kenosha to Racine, Mitchell Field,
and
Milwaukee.

Barca developed the bills
that passed to improve Wisconsin's freight
rail system.

Barca worked with Rail
Companies to add rubberized materials to nearly
everyone of the town of Somers Rail Crossings to ease passage for
motorists.

Barca and Senator Joe
Czarnecki passed the Constitutional Amendment that enabled the state
to bond for Rail Improvement Services.

Barca helped lead the
opposition on indexing the gas taxes to prevent
automatic increases each year.

Barca helped lead the
opposition to taxing home heating fuels.
Barca's Agenda is:

Work to create partnerships between
private business and industry and the colleges and universities in
Wisconsin to green technologies.

Challenge the University of
Wisconsin to develop alternative fuels
and other alternatives to our dependence on fossil fuels and reduce our
dependence on foreign oil.

Work to develop creative ideas to help
area owned businesses to
develop bio-fuels, solar, wind, hydrogen and other technologies that
will create more jobs and reduce energy costs.
·
Proposing expending the tax credits
available for businesses and
families who install solar, wind, and other energy producing
technologies, which will help lower energy costs through reduced
consumption of natural gas.

Taking a leadership role in passing the
proposed KRM line. |
